Thorne Moors deer

The Deer of Thorne Moors: A Working Paper by Martin Limbert is available as a download on this website or as a printed publication. This 32 page account covers the period 1959-2013 plus 1st January-15th April 2014. Three species are involved: Red Deer Cervus elaphus, Roe Deer Capreolus capreolus and Reeves’ Muntjac Muntiacus reevesi. In addition to introductory sections, there are detailed accounts of the three species, and sections on their impact, on the outcome of a recent culling programme, and on their future management. The working paper thus offers a case-study of local and wider interest.
